In high operating temperatures and/or harsh chemical environments, fluorocarbon rubber is preferred over nitrile. It also performs well in a variety of fuels, dilute acids and bases, and a multitude of hydrocarbons. Fluorocarbon features outstanding resistance to atmospheric ozone and oxidation.
